Meet Jodiene Johnson. She a first-year Masters' student in the Fisk-Vanderbilt Bridge to Ph.D. program. She comes to us from Fort Lauderdale, FL. When asked to tell us about her she says, "I love traveling to new places. One of my goals is to visit as many countries as possible. I am a foodie and I am always open to trying different types of food. I also really enjoy photography; another one of my goals is to take a photography class so that I can become better. I also love to watch movies especially period pieces".

Meet Terrance Hawkins. He is an NIH BD2K (Big Data to Knowledge) scholar. He says "I am a junior biology major from Chicago, IL and I have lived here my whole life. While at Fisk, I will receive my undergraduate degree and use it to go to graduate school and eventually earn my doctorate. I plan to use my doctorate to start my own lab and lead sickle cell disease research in an attempt to cure it". You can contact him via email at: [email protected]
Taryana says "I am Taryana Hatley. I am a senior Biology major from Memphis Tennessee. I aspire to assist low income communities by providing medical services through a nonprofit organization. Rish is a BD2K scholar in the lab. He says "My name is Rish! I’m from Ontario, Canada. I am a student athlete at Fisk University and I hope that after my time at Fisk, I can pursue further education in medical school. Kourtney is also an NIH BD2K scholar. She says "My name is Kourtney Tate. I am a junior Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Pre-Med major from Olive Branch, MS. I have a passion for science, helping others, and sports. My ultimate goal is to combine my passions and become a Sports Medicine Physician and own my practice". Meet Nairobi Huff. She says "My name is Nairobi Huff. I am a sophomore Biology Pre-Med major from Sugar Hill, Georgia with a passion for fitness, health, and makeup. My personal struggle with cystic acne has led me to a profound fascination with Dermatology and skincare. I have set future goals of becoming a Dermatologist with aspirations of opening my own practice and creating a makeup line catered to those with acne-prone skin". You can contact her at:

- Angelle Jones is a graduating senior and MARC Scholar, she graduates in May 2020 and is headed to University of Cincinnati for her Ph.D.
- Brooklyn Sims is a graduating senior, and a BD2K scholar, she graduates in May 2020 and wants to be a dentist and start her own practice.
- Hannah McKinley, also a graduating senior wants to be a doctor.
- Ashley Colemon, successfully defended her Masters' thesis and is currently at Duke University pursuing her Ph.D. in Cancer Pharmacology. You can reach her at: [email protected]
